Template Design
The Challenge:
The producer of a charity auction wanted to upgrade the overall look
of the visual presentations at the annual event. She asked us to help
make the auction look more upscale and sophisticated, develop consistent
imagery and help establish a recognizable brand for
the event.
She shared with us the PowerPoint template that had been used he previous year and challenged us to take it to the next level, generating greater interest in the auction items and bringing a consistent look and brand to the event. She wanted the presentations to maintain the same look and feel of the other collateral material so the guests would know immediately that they were in the right place.
The Solution:
After reviewing the previous year’s materials, as well as the imagery that had already been used for the upcoming auction, we re-designed the presentation template to better reflect the same warmth and compassion that we saw in the other collateral.
We gathered photos of children that lived at the non-profit’s family house during their treatment in local hospitals and obtained original artwork from the graphic designer who created the invitation. We wanted to start with the raw material in order to create the highest quality presentation for the client.
Once we had compiled the images and art we began re-designing the presentation slides. We developed a template based on an image of a single child that was the dominant feature on the invitations. We incorporated the colors used in the invitation as well, to create a look that carried on the visual language of the annual auction.
The Result:
Guests at the auction experienced a coordinated, choreographed and branded event. As they entered the room they were greeted by a gentle loop of images of children who would benefit as a result of the auction. This was both emotional and comforting.
Auction items were displayed in a new, easy-to-read format that was complimentary and appealing to the eye, making the items more desirable and therefore creating the potential for higher bids from the guests.
As the guests departed, the loop of the children on the screens played once again.
At the end of the event, the charity had raised more money than the previous year and we knew we had exceeded the client’s expectations when she told us that she definitely wanted to work with us again.
